Founded in 2003, the School of the Amazon has alredady developed several activities on Education for Conservation with:
- Over 1100 students from several local urban and rural elementary and high schools contributed to research by the means of individual and group interviews, questionnaires and concept maps.

- Over 290 visiting students from 3 visiting high schools.

- 5000 local children (11-12 year olds) from 6 local schools in the "Day in the Forest" workshops.

- Over 25 visiting teachers and 15 local teachers in one or more of the above activities.
Today, the School of the Amazon:
- Carries out 10 different projects for the Alta Floresta community and major urban centres.

- Have more than 20 patners in Brazil and abroad.
