One of the activities that gives greatest pleasure is undoubtedly travel. Knowing new places, new people and making new friends are among the most enjoyable experiences of life.

The School of the Amazon unites all during the opportunity to visit and meet the biggest natural heritage of our planet, the Amazon jungle.

The Amazon region is part of school courses from many different subjects:

  • In Biology we learn about forest biodiversity, the role of forests in maintaining our planets climate and discuss the importance of its conservation for future generations.
  • In Geography we study its rivers, especially the Amazon - the world's largest - and read about the traditional communities and discuss about what it means to have the international community looking at the development of the Brazilian Amazon.
  • In History, learn about the colonisation of the Amazon, the importance of the 60’s and 70’s in which the Brazilian government encouraged deforestation with the motto "Integrate don’t return," and so on.

All this builds a base of knowledge essential to our lives as Brazilians.

The activities of the School of the Amazon are made:

  • At any time of the year in safety and comfort
  • In the company of guides and instructors specialized in the region

And they have the following objectives:

  • Putting you in touch with its social, political and environmental dynamics
  • Discuss with regional representatives about the future of the region and the importance of creating sustainable alternatives for regional development
  • Have excellent moments of leisure and entertainment
