Cooperation between public schools in an Amazonian agricultural frontier and private colleges located in urban centres

The "Twinning Schools Project" aims to establish cooperation between public schools in the agricultural frontier of the Amazon and private colleges located in urban centres. This provides academic benefits for both sides and material benefits for the local school, because the cooperation involves donation of school supplies by the college visitor.

The School of the Amazon encourages and coordinates the collection of educational materials - such as textbooks, maps, Brazilian literature, among others which will be donated to schools in Alta Floresta and surrounding municipalities.

The School of the Amazon also delivers donated materials and puts in direct contact schools participating in the project. Through joint activities, both pupils and teachers have a chance to talk, discuss, share experiences and learn more closely the reality and educational inequalities in Brazil.
