Putting young people from the Brazilian Amazon in touch with the rest of Brazil and the world

The lifestyle in the Amazon region is undoubtedly very different from that experienced in the rest of Brazil.
The Correspondence Project aims to reduce this social distance, putting in contact teachers and students from all over Brazil and abroad with children and teenagers from rural schools of Alta Floresta (municipality located in the extreme north of Mato Grosso state).

The spread of electronic means of communication, means that receiving an handwritten letter has become an increasingly rare event.

Through the Correspondence Project, we are trying to encourage the habit of writing letters with paper and pen, stimulating a more careful and close look at how and what is communicated.

This project is open to students and teachers from all over Brazil and abroad, with no age limit for participation.
